Umbral is a performance in which the dissociation between biological time and chronoscopic time is explored, defined by Paul Virilio as “the time of information and communication technologies.” In the performance, a video of a screen recording of a desktop is projected, where videos are opened up, playing in loop. The videos are a record of myself pronouncing verbs in imperative mood. I execute the actions in a timely manner as if they were commands. The videos accumulate and occupy the entire screen, while generating a sonic overlap of the verbs. The repetition and multiplication of videos wear me out and make it impossible to execute the verbal commands in actions. After a while, the videos on the computer desktop begin to close, culminating in the end of the performance.
